While this year’s Saanich Fair will be a scaled-back version of our traditional fair, we will still offer our guests the opportunity to celebrate our rich agricultural heritage though displays, demonstrations, 4H, food, music and more. We are excited to welcome back visitors to the Fair, but we are also mindful that the COVID-19 virus is still active in British Columbia. We want to assure you that we have a communicable disease plan in place, developed in cooperation with Island Health and Workplace BC.
2021 Saanich Fair Communicable Disease Plan
Special Note (August 24, 2021) – B.C. has reinstated a mask mandate for public indoor spaces across the province, according to an announcement from Dr. Bonnie Henry today. The new mask mandate begins on Wednesday, August 25 and applies to people aged 12 and older. This will include buildings housing our popular department displays in the Gallery, Agricultural Hall, RCMP Barn, Agriplex and Quonset Hut. Please bring your own masks!
The North and South Saanich Agricultural Society will follow all orders, guidance, recommendations and notices issued by BC Public Health for this year’s Saanich Fair. Signage will be posted to support the measures that are in place. We will provide routine cleaning for the Saanich Fair using the appropriate supplies, training and making sure policies and practices are in place. > Access to buildings will be limited to 50% of normal capacity at any one time. Masks are now required for use inside buildings (please bring your own masks). Directional arrows will be placed inside building to maintain one-way traffic flow. > Hand sanitizer stations will be available at the Fair entrance and throughout the grounds. We will have signage reminding visitors, volunteers, staff and food service suppliers to sanitize our hands regularly. > The Midway has its own Communicable Disease Plan that includes reducing the number of rides and attractions as well as using enhanced cleaning protocols and effective signage. > The Saanich Fair will not be providing seating this year. Please bring your lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the festivities. If you have any further questions please contact our office at 250-652-3314 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to seeing you at the FAIR!
The Saanich Fair is open 9 am – 9pm on Saturday and Sunday, but buildings and indoor exhibits only close at 7 pm (Communicable Disease Plan).
